Giving God's Word A Place

MINISTER: Rev Noah Oladipo
The prerequisite to giving ample reverence to God’s Word is recognising that the things which pertain to God are permanent while the mundane and carnal ideologies and objects are relatively temporary.

Every believer must endeavour to develop a culture of endearment with God’s Word; it is not enough to merely hear the Word in Church but also to study God’s Word at home much like the Berean Christians. There is a procedure to making God’s Word come alive for you as a believer.
First and foremost, is the initial Reading of the Word which no doubt guides the reader into a Knowledge phase. However, no matter how intensive the reading of the Word is, nothing more than is acquired. Mere Knowledge of God’s Word will do little for the believer in that state and remains dormant.
In addition to reading, the ideal believer must make an effort to meditate on God’s Word. An in depth meditation will produce “Spirit” (Life) where the believer has internalised it through his thoughts. One may ask; What is Meditation?

Terry Law described it as perceived from the original translation in the Hebrew Bible to be similar to the digestive process undergone by ruminant animals chewing their cud. It is only after ruminating that the food ingested by these animals would have the desired effect of nourishment. The similarity is not lost on the issue of meditating on God’s Word.
Therefore, mere reading needs to grow into meditation in order to take effect. Consequently, it is possible for two believers to call on the name of Jesus, and for only one to receive positive results where the latter has received revelation concerning God’s Word acquired from meditation therein.
The third and final step is making a confession. The bible clearly spells out all of the previously listed steps{ Joshua 1:8}. This point spells out the difference between Joshua’s ministry and that of his predecessor in spite of the miracles wrought by the latter. Joshua got to the promise land by following this instruction. It outlines that although meditation gives the required power to God’s Word, only a confession of faith brings about a practical demonstration of God’s wonders. {Romans 10:10}Moreover, God’s Word instructs us continually and directs us along God’s perfect will.

Beloved, it is our Father’s plan for us to enjoy all of the promises disclosed to us by the Scripture. The Psalmist correctly described the situation most heirs find themselves in today{Psalm 81:10-14}. It goes without saying therefore that a culture of obeying God’s instructions will prove to have brought about good success to most Christians today and significant elevation from their current state.

It is just as important for the saints of God to understand that God’s Word, although different from the nomenclature, “THE WORD” referenced in the first chapter of John’s Gospel {John 1:1-3} will stand to be distinguished for obeying God’s instructions.

The Gospel of John helps to understand that all created things were the product of the WORD who created all things. This is of much joy to a believer who comes to understand the import of this scripture; the fact that God’s WORD created and gives life to you shows that he is able to repair dysfunctions just as the best repairer of the vehicle is its manufacturer who understands the intricacies of its mechanism.
The recreation experienced here is without reservation such that a prostitute after salvation appears before our father as a virgin and this is our victory in him: 2 Cor. 5:17; v.21.

Therefore, we enjoy limitless possibilities in Christ when we come to an understanding of His Word. The book of Psalm 82:5-6 describes how an understanding of God’s Word is the missing link in God’s children not taking their place as gods on Earth. A lot of work remains to be done in order for us to enjoy God’s blessings as his children.
In the end, the Father’s blessing to us are infinite and limitless. In faith, whatever you say is being ratified by God, that is, He speaks simultaneously with you to give the desired result to your confession of Faith.
Scripture says in Matt. 19:26 that, “with God, all things are possible” and this testifies of his ability to sufficiently provide for us. However, Mark 9:23 highlights that “all things are possible to him that believes.” A close examination of both portions of Scripture reveal a linear equation of sorts where equals the other and either can be used interchangeably.
It is not enough that God is willing to do much more for His children, we must have an understanding of this as well as a confidence to correctly apply His Word. Shalom!
